Crop Walk 2011
Every year Church World Service and local congregations team up and raise money to end hunger around the world by hosting CROP Walk. It started in 1947 as a way for Midwest farmers to help out our brothers and sisters in postwar Europe and Asia. It stands for Christian Rural Overseas Program, and it's changed a lot since 1947, but the mission is exactly the same - an effort to ensure that all of our brothers and sisters can have enough food to feed their families.

Thanks to all who donated and to the walkers for supporting the Crop Hunger Walk on Oct. 23, 2011. We raised $1,275! Special thanks to our team captain, Pastor Luke Grobe and all the CROP fundraisers and walkers including: Linda Kopecky, Samuel King, Eli King, Michelle-Nicholle Calareso, Suzanne Cifelli, Linda Cetrulo, Nicole Reynolds, Asia Jensen, Bonnie Kueffner, Orion Kueffner, Tonya Ambrose, and Tanner Ambrose.

Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education
"To offer sexuality education in a congregation is to acknowledge that human sexuality is simply too important, too beautiful, and too potentially dangerous to be ignored in a religious community." - Rev. Lena Breen
A full team of trained youth facilitators is available for this intensive inquiry into sexuality as it affects all of our lives. Two OWL classes offered in 2010 included: Grades 4-5 - with Dr. Louis Krupnick and Dr. Haven Howell and Grades 6-8 - with Tony Porter and Lysa Burianek.
The mandatory parents' meeting provides an overview of the course, including material covered in both age groups, expectations for participation, and parent decisions about some content pieces. For information on the OWL program values and assumptions see:
