Sunday Schedule

Join us for a family breakfast sponsored by the Christian Education Board at 9 a.m. on Sept. 13. Classes will begin again on September 20, 2009.

  • 9 a.m. - Grades 6 and 7 are using an internet based curriculum called The Great Bible Race studying the Torah, the first five books of the Hebrew scriptures, and interacting with other youth around the country.
  • 9 a.m. - Grades 8-12 meet in the youth room for discussion.
  • 6 p.m. -  Youth Band meets in the Lanyon Chapel. All our welcome - no experience needed.

Confirmation

The next confirmation class will be in the fall of 2010 for 7th and 8th graders. This mentor-based nine month program is designed to integrate youth into the life of the congregation and challenge them to own their growing faith for themselves.

Youth Leading Worship

Teams of youth design and lead worship services during the year. The teams study the scripture focus for the day with Pastor Rick King, then explore ways to lead the congregation in worship around the theme.

La Foret Retreats Provided by the Rocky Mountain Conference

Middle School (grades 6-8): March 19-21. "The God Olympics"
High School (grades 9-12): April 16-18.

Summer 2010 Mission Trip

July 6-10 Western Regional Youth Event in Billings, Montana. Theme: "Reach Beyond the Big Sky"

The trip is open to youth entering 7th grade in the fall of 2010 through graduating seniors of 2010. The event includes service projects, worship, workshops, and several keynote speakers, in addition to exploring the big sky county of Montana.

See Sara Weatherman for more information. Fund raisers to benefit the mission trip fund include: work days, annual all-church picnic in May, and a rummage sale in August.

Service Projects

Various activities during the year include: Souper Bowl offering, homeless lockout, OUR Center lunches, and Christmas caroling to shut-ins.

Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education

A full team of trained youth facilitators is available for this intensive inquiry into sexuality as it affects all of our lives. In the fall of 2010 a class will be offered for 4th-6th graders.
