Discerning Christ's Way

We see Jesus as a model of human wholeness and responsibility. Within our congregation, there are diverse understandings about salvation, but a common understanding that our actions tell more about our faith than what we say we believe.  Christians are people who say they are Christians and who try to live their lives following Christ's example of love, compassion, wisdom and responsibility.

The Community Covenant is a written agreement that guides how people will treat one another. It states clearly how people will behave with each other in the spirit of Christian love even when conflicts inevitably arise. It states what God is calling the group to do and how the group will conduct itself. The Community Covenant outlines the expectations that members of the group can depend on regarding interactions with one another while living out its faith in loving, respectful ways.

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. – Colossians 3:12-17

Fellowship

Children's Ministry

On the first Sunday of the month, which is communion Sunday, children will stay in worship with their families.  On these Sundays, the worship service will be designed with our youngest worshippers in mind, giving us all a chance to learn and grow together.

Families are always welcome to worship together!  Any younger children who wish to stay in worship with their parents are welcome and included.  Green bags with activities for young worshippers are provided every Sunday.

Safe Space

In 2009, in keeping with the vision of our church and our dedication to inclusion, our church leaders adopted a policy committing to create and maintain a community in which members, friends, staff and volunteers can worship and work together in an atmosphere free of all forms of discrimination, harassment, exploitation or intimidation.

Our Vision

We believe that, as part of the body of Christ, we are called to Extend the Reach of Christ inwardly within each individual and outwardly to others within our congregation, local community and world by:

Continuously striving to better understand God's will as made known to us through Jesus Christ, the scriptures and revelations of the Holy Spirit.

Actively ministering to the spiritual and other needs of all our brothers and sisters.

Being faithful stewards of all of God's creation.

What We Believe

We gather as God’s people to discern Christ’s way, seek social justice, and discover the holy.

Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and one another. The bible speaks about iron sharpening iron.
