United Church of Christ Longmont - Missions

What they provide: UCC Disaster Mininistries provides emergency shelter, Church World Service Kits, which are personal care items for people displaced by disasters, volunteer coordinators and work teams in disaster areas.

 

What we do: UCC Longmont has helped assemble disaster kits after Hurrican Harvey and Irma. We have helped with home rebuilding trips after Hurrican Katrina. In January 2019 and January 2020 we sent a Mission Team to Puerto Rico to assist with home rebuilding.

Tri (Re-Entry Initiative) established 2017

 

What they provide: Tri provides Transitional Housing for women leaving incarceration. The organization provides case management and teaches new life skills to women in transition. 

 

What we do: UCC Longmont provides furnishings for Transitional Housing and Welcome Bags for new arrivals. We also help provide mentoring for individual women. 



Inn Between established 1993

 

What they provide: In Between provides transitional and long-term housing for people with very low income and homeless teens. Additionally, Inn Between provides case management and life skills training for those in their program. 

 

What we do: UCC Longmont has aided Inn Between with monetary donations and remodeling aid. In 2018, UCC Longmont donated land for the Micah Homes of the Inn Between which were completed and opened in February, 2020.

Born to Read established 1991

 

What they provide: Born to Read provides books for newborns and parental materials to encourage new parents to read to their children. 

 

What we do: UCC Longmont helps assemble book bags for every newborn in Longmont. 

 


OUR Center established 1986

 

What they provide: The OUR Center provides a daily lunch, a community market and clothing for those in need. Additionally the center provides case management and advocacy for individuals alognside financial, parenting and nutrition classes. This is done in coordination with other community partners. 

 

What we do: UCC Longmont has helped volunteer in the community market, intake and at special events. We have collected food, clothing and personal items, alongside donations for auction fundraisers, grocery cards and monetary donations.
