The mission of our church is very simple…To extend the reach of Christ.
In keeping with the life and teachings of Christ Jesus, we joyfully and unconditionally welcome all people of any age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, race, culture, ability, or sexual orientation into our community of faith and affirm the worth of all people as unique individuals made in God's image. We are open to the special gifts that each person brings and invite each one to participate in the life of our church.
Words from our Community
"An amazing congregation, filled with warm and kind people. Walking into service feels like coming home."
"I have never been more comfortable and content even when the water gets rough. The relationships and community make it family . It's no wonder that I'm so happy . Oh yeah , and I love the choir!"
Welcoming, affirming, and truly acting as the hands and feet of Christ. Please come join if you're looking for a progressive and loving church!
Founded as First Congregational Church in 1872 (only a year after Longmont itself was established) the United Church of Christ Longmont has been a longtime and significant presence in Longmont.
Today, UCC-Longmont continues to stand out as a faith community known for its open, generous theology, bold stances on social justice issues, commitment to caring for the environment, cooperation with other faiths, and dedication to serving our neighbors in the wider community.
We believe that Jesus extends grace to everyone and that we should follow in his steps. Who are we to pass judgment and not extend grace, when we ourselves have sinned. We believe we should love the sinner, not banish them.
We believe that Jesus is central to everything. We believe that prayer is a direct line to God, and that we should speak to Him every chance we get. Worship is our chance to praise God and we take joy in doing so.
- We preach to extend Grace
- We worship hard and pray harder
- We are a church without walls
- It is our mission to reach the lost and broken
- We value the Word, and plan to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ
